Pleasure plays a central role in the Hotel Neue Post, our hotel with a wine cellar in Zillertal. The host Willi Pfister is a qualified sommelier and the ideal person to help you get to know the Austrian wine variety better on your holidays in Mayrhofen. His passion for fine wines led him to transform the centuries-old hotel cellar into a wine cellar in 2008. The cellar, in which over 250 fine wines from near and far are stored, is tempered throughout the year to between 18 °C and 21 °C and is not only to be regarded as a wine cellar but, above all, as a place for enjoyment.

Wine tastings with qualified sommelier Willi Pfister
Every day, the Hotel Neue Post offers the opportunity to take part in a wine tasting in its wine cellar at 4 p.m. or 9:30 p.m., with a minimum of six participants, and upon reservation. There are three different programmes to choose from, each with six different wines. Before each tasting, Willi gets to know the participants to find out their tastes and preferences. The philosophy of the wine cellar can also be seen in the culinary accompaniment of the tasting. To neutralise the taste, we don’t offer you a simple white bread, but a proper farmer’s snack with products from the region.

You can reserve the only table in the wine cellar for yourself and up to seven guests, including personal service for no additional charge. You can then choose the dishes from the menu of our hotel with a wine cellar or have a special menu put together for the occasion. Host and qualified sommelier Willi Pfister will surprise you with the right wine accompaniment. There are no time limits for the evening. It is the perfect opportunity to spend a cosy evening far away from the stress of everyday life and to celebrate.
