Treasure Hunts in Austria

Geocaching in Mayrhofen: An adventurous treasure hunt with a new look

Geocaching is a modern version of the universally known treasure hunt, loved by people of all ages. The treasure hunt is undertaken with the help of an electronic GPS device (which may also be a smartphone equipped with GPS) that gives directions.

The hidden treasure is searched for, and hopefully found, on the basis of geographic coordinates . The various treasures being sought are known as geocaches, which are classified according to how difficult they are to find.

Geocaching can be tailored to meet the requirements of the individual treasure hunter and individual family members.
